( BAWN) –Chicago, IL. -The embattled R&B Star R.Kelly was released from jail after an unknown Female posted the 100,000 D-bond which is 10% of the one million dollar dollar bail.
Kelly still faces a growing list of charges. For example, to avoid being held in contempt of court, a judge ordered Kelly to pay $161,663 by March 6. Kelly’s Attorney Steve Greenberg said his client “does not have to pay the child support before getting out” on bail.
A wall of television cameras and reporters awaited Kelly outside the gates at the Cook County jail. He walked out of the facility with his lawyer and straight into a van without saying anything.
The singer in deference to all allegations pitted against him, Kelly still plead not guilty leaving a continued stream of detractors including Singer John Legend (picture,below) talked on The Today Show about Kelly- “A lot of people were being hurt for decades,” he says. “We looked away for too long.”
This past week R.Kelly was charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Kelly is expected did appear in bond court Saturday — earlier Cook County prosecutors alleged in an explosive indictment filed Friday with abuse that involved five victims, at least three of them minors, from 1998 to 2010.
The minors were between 13 and 16, prosecutors said. Kelly is 51.
Prosecutors appeared before Judge Dennis Porter Friday, who approved a no-bail warrant for Kelly, records show.
According to two sources close to the case including Attorney Micheal Avenatti. Kelly was seen as the suspect male in a video tape now turned over to the Cool Country States Attorney Kim Fox’s office. Last week-Avenatti responded by stating that he recently met with officials on the ground in Cook County and is certain that an indictment of the superstar singer is inevitable.
Weeks ago Kelly released a 19-minute confessional titled “I Admit” — that addresses years of unflattering headlines about his private life. Beginning line after line with “I admit …” the singer confesses to a multitude of acts, including infidelity, sleeping with his girlfriend’s best friend, having sexual relationships with fans and going to strip clubs every week.”I admit I was in my own way,” he sings.Acknowledging he’s “made some mistakes” and has “imperfect ways.”
Kelly also says he tried to help others in the music industry who turned on him. In the days ahead on-watchers will see if the words of Kelly’s own song will be used as a affidavit against himself. (glg)
